1. Who is DVDXpress?

DVDXpress is the longest running owner and operator of DVD rental kiosks in the United States.

2. How do the DVD rental kiosks work?

It's as simple to use as an ATM:

-- To RENT a movie, simply select the movie of your choice from on-screen menu, select the RENT button, then swipe your credit/debit card - and in seconds your DVD is dispensed.

-- To RETURN a movie, simply place your DVD into the DVD dispenser slot and await on-screen return confirmation. See Usage Instructions for more details.

3. Do I need to be a member?

No. There's no membership card, membership fee, or sign-up required to rent a DVD from the kiosk. Anyone over 18 with a valid credit (or debit) card can use our kiosks as often as they wish.  DVDXpress does however offer an All-You-Can-Watch Monthly Subscription program for just $12.99 per month.

4.  How does the Monthly Subscription Plan work?

With a Monthly subscription plan you can rent an unlimited number of DVDs every month, one out at a time, for just $12.99.  There are no due times, late fees, or waiting in the mail for your movies.  You can sign up for the plan at any kiosk and begin using your subscription membership immediately.  And, with our Internet Reservations capability, you'll be able to check the real-time available inventory at any DVDXpress kiosk and reserve your selection for pickup the same day.

5. How often do you update the kiosks with new movies?

New release DVDs are available beginning every Tuesday.

6. Can I reserve movies online for pickup at the kiosk?

YES! DVDXpress is proud to introduce online reservations. Go to www.dvdxpress.net, select your closest kiosk, reserve your favorite titles and pick them up at the kiosk the same day! There is no additional charge for this service.  You may reserve up to 2 movies at a time.  Monthly subscription plan members may only reserve 1 movie at a time.  There's no special sign up or registration required to use this feature.  You only need to be an existing DVDXpress customer with a registered email address for receipts.  To login at www.dvdxpress.net simply enter the email address that you've used to rent your movies and the last 4 digits of the credit used at the kiosk.

7. What payment methods does DVDXpress accept?

DVDXpress currently accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards or Debit Cards containing the Visa or MasterCard logos. Our kiosks do NOT accept cash.

8. Is my payment information secure?

YES!  DVDXpress employs state-of-the-art security technology to ensure the security and privacy of our customers' data throughout all business interaction with DVDXpress (whether at our kiosks, our website, or when speaking with our call center support staff).

DVDXpress takes the following measures to comply with all Federal, State, Local, and Commercial security and privacy regulations:

  1. DVDXpress Business Platform (consisting of Kiosks, Websites, and Call Centers) is regularly required to meet all ongoing Credit Card Industry Security Standards ... further detail about these industrywide credit card processing security and audit regulations can be found at http://www.pcisecuritystandards.org    The core requirement of these standards are that DVDXpress is restricted from ever storing the credit card information of its customers in any of its systems.
  2. DVDXpress Kiosks are actively monitored and regularly inspected both on-site (for physical tampering) and remotely (via software scans and log reviews)
  3. DVDXpress immediately encrypts all credit card data that is swiped at our kiosk locations. This is the only method that credit card information is received into and passes through the DVDXpress Business Platform. This means that DVDXpress does not currently accept, store, or receive credit card information through its websites or call centers during the course of its business activities. Most importantly, this means that DVDXpress Employees do not have access to customer credit card data.
  4. DVDXpress encrypts all data transfers throughout its Business Platform Activities (Kiosks, Websites, and Call Center Software)
  5. DVDXpress maintains a security breach remediation and notification plan and is continually reviewing its security policies to ensure they meet all governmental and commercial standards,

9. Can I get a receipt?

YES! DVDXpress operates a paperless system and delivers all receipts by e-mail. On every transaction, our system will ask whether or not you would like to receive an e-mail receipt. If you've entered your e-mail once you will not need to re-enter it for future transactions. If you do not have an e-mail address your credit card statement should provide you the information you need.

DVDXpress also provides its Return Confirmation Receipts by e-mail.

10. How do you use my e-mail address?

Entering your e-mail address is strictly for your benefit and convenience. We use your e-mail address to provide you with e-mail receipts of your transactions and return confirmation. Frequently we'll include Coupon Codes for FREE and discounted rentals. Your e-mail address is never rented or sold to third parties.

11. How can I receive Coupons for FREE rentals and other offers?

At DVDXpress there's always a promotion available for FREE and discounted rentals. But, you'll need to receive e-mail receipts to get them. Make sure you're getting an e-mail receipt for all your transactions in order to receive Coupon Codes!

12. How do I use Coupon Codes at the DVDXpress kiosk?

Using a Coupon Code at the DVDXpress kiosk is as easy as 1,2,3:

1. Select movie, Choose "Rent"
2. Select "Use Coupon"
3. Swipe Credit/Debit Card

13. How many DVDs can I rent/purchase at one time?

For your protection, the rental limits are different depending on if you are a first time customer, or if you have rented with us previously.

First time renters/purchasers: 2 DVDs
Repeat customers: 5 DVDs

Monthly subscription members may only have out one (1) DVD at a time.

14. When are movies due back?

Monthly subscription rentals have no due dates. Monthly subscription charges will be automatically billed to your card until you cancel your subscription and your last rental has been returned. All other rentals are billed at the low extra day rate posted at the kiosk. You have 15 days before the system charges you the $25 purchase price of the DVD, at which point the movie is yours to keep.

15. When are Extra Day Fees assessed?

Extra Day fees are assessed and charged at the time of your return. Extra day fees accrue for each additional period you keep the DVD beyond the due date, up to the Purchase Price of the DVD.

Once you’ve been charged the purchase price, you have purchased the DVD and it is yours to keep.

16. What if a movie is never returned?

You will not be charged more than the price of the DVD ($25), no matter how long you rent it. In fact, the movie is yours to keep at that point.

17. What if I lose the DVD or DVD case?

Please call Customer Service at 1-877-385-8500 for instructions to return DVD’s without a case or a damaged security tag. For lost DVD’s, your credit or debit card will automatically be charged $25.

18. What if the kiosk does not accept my return?

Please verify that your DVD is in the case and that the Security Tag is intact and secure. If this is not the problem, please call Customer Service at 1-877-385-8500 for instructions.

19. How does the kiosk know which DVD I returned?

Each DVD has an electronic security tag which tracks all pertinent information including when it was rented and returned.

20. What if my disc does not play?

Check the playing surface of your DVDs for fingerprints should they ever skip or fail to play. More so than scratches, the dirt and oil from simple fingerprints can cause a disc to skip. To remove fingerprints and dirt, wipe the disc from the center outwards using a soft cloth (no papertowels). If problems persist please contact Customer Service at 1-877-385-8500 for further assistance.

22. Why are your prices so low?

DVDXpress can offer everyday value pricing on new release DVD rentals since it fully automates the traditional video store experience. We have lower overhead and so we pass these savings on to you.
